Katrin Moye is a wonderful and much in demand ceramicist, some of whose work we have been proud to commission and display in our JET by Whiteworks shop window. She makes highly decorative domestic ceramics and one-off collector’s pieces.
As well as individual creations, her work with us has included commissioned collections inspired by most recently our Susi Arabesque Linens and previously our Posy Wallpaper and Fabric designs as well as a collection inspired by her pilgrimage to Delft for our Craft Week 2020 show in Pimlico .
Her ceramics are all hand-created by her whether wheel-thrown or hand-cast with a very individual style of hand applied decoration. She credits her German childhood and Scandinavian Godmother as early influences, but has continually fed off her artistic, academic and domestic surroundings to underpin the development, individuality, unique charm and sensitivity of her work.
Besides the work she has done for us, one can pick out particularly among the varied inspirations the Shandy Hall collection inspired by her literary hero Lawrence Sterne, some gorgeous Dutch Tulipieres as well as the sell out exhibitions as Ainscough Gallery, The Shop Floor Project and Bovey Tracey.
